The Paramount Theater in Abilene, Texas

When I was in college this was the only place in the wilderness of west texas that was beautiful to me, it was like an oasis of culture art and beauty in the middle of a vaste wasteland. It is magical to be in the cieling is a starry sky the walls are vintage and morracan, a velvet, surreal hush lies over the place....almost like it is haunted in a pleasant way, it is from another world, an odd little corner in the middle of the texas desert. It was the only place for a hundred miles to go for ballets, plays, film festivals, foreign films, vintage films.....It was magical.
